auto update on imcomplete video, specifically rar type

vlc plays rar file containg video but if the video is imcomplete it only plays it until the point the video was complete at first play
so say you drop the rar on vlc at time 16:10:55 (PM) and it is only complete to 10:29 of the video, full video length is 1 hour the video will stop at 10:29 even if the video is complete 7 mins after adding, which means the video is disrupted and requires user input which is a pain if you are 25 meters away. i suppose what im suggesting is like streaming a download if you get what i mean? does this make sense? i know alot of people will want this feature

Try VLC 1.2 for this aspect.

just took the latest trunk. playing split RAR files causes VLC to proclaim it as broken AVIs (1.1.9 is fine)
also, i didn't see in the trac anything in the 1.2 feature freeze or bugs about handling RAR files

Will 1.2 contain a fix for this?

It will be much appreciated.
Thanks...

Yes, the AVI are necessarily broken in RAR.

Hey, I'm sorry I didn't quite understand.
Do you mean that this is still a bug that will be fixed, or that the AVI is broken in the RAR I tested?

If you mean the latter, I checked the RAR with VLC 1.1.9 and it worked fine - so it means that it is a bug with trunk.

Thanks
