VLC should support output of RTMP

Postby Animedude5555 » 30 Mar 2011 00:53

Currently supports outputting only RTSP, but the webpage embedable flash player JW Player (player.swf) supports only one stream format, RTMP. Please include an RTMP output mode for VoD playing. I'm interested in using VoD on my website in conjunction with JW Player embeded on several of my pages for different videos. However I find that the available RTMP servers Wowza, Red5, and Adobe Media Server, are NOT user fiendly and require configuration of tons of xml and script files to work. However VLC player is a user friendly GUI software, so I predict that using VLC it would be possible to make a very user friendly, entirely GUI operated, implementation of an RTMP server for VoD. Please consider doing this.

Was browsing the forums and found this topic. Just want to say this is most likely not going to happen
