1. Anti Tearing option - Tearing is one of the most frequent problems happening with home theater computers. Almost invisible on still pictures, this becomes very annoying on panning scenes.

* It works only if the output is set to "VMR9 Renderless" or "EVR Custom pres."
* In this mode Windows cannot display either context menus or dialog boxes. To open the options window or to load another video file, you first need to close the current video using the "Ctrl+C" system shortcut.

Here you go it's the subtitles

Previously i had version 1.1.5 i updated it to 1.1.7 and now is something wrong - i cannot add subtitles to the film, if i try to add nothing happens, if i try to add subtitles by drag and drop VLC is crashing

5. Play Broken AVI Files

AVI files can't be played if the index is broken, or if the file isn't completely downloaded. This is because the index is located at the end of the file. VLC should provide possibility to view files with broken indexes or that are still being downloaded.

If you run a video file and there is already a file with a similar name in the directory, it will be automatically added to your playlist. VLC should have a similar playlist format as M3U, PLS, ASX and you can also include and edit different media formats on that playlist as well. It should be easy to create and edit your own multimedia playlist

7. Screen Capture
Screen capture allows you to take a screenshot of your video directly from VLC Player. Using the Burst Capture feature, you can take continuous screenshots up to 999 shots.

I don't know but I went back to 1.1.5 and all is fine

It's quite similar to VLC but in some aspects better, as it's opensource I think some features should be added to VLC
Configurable subtitles. You can choose font and size, and even colors for the subtitles.
# Seeking by mouse wheel. You can use your mouse wheel to go forward or backward in the video.
# Video equalizer, allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and gamma of the video image.
#Filters. Several filters are available: deinterlace, postprocessing, denoise... and even a karaoke filter (voice removal).
#Audio and subtitles delay adjustment. Allows you to sync audio and subtitles
#Preferences dialog. You can easily configure every option of SMPlayer by using a nice preferences dialog.

Preferences dialog is really cool, and it's should be used in VLC, settings are better categorized and well described, so it's a advantage over VLC

Sometimes I watch chinese films with chinese subtitles and sometimes with english but the fonts that look good in english look bad in chinese and vice versa.

I would like to see VLC as All-in-One DVD ripper and video conversion tool.
video converter should converts almost all formats including DivX, XviD, MOV, RM, RMVB, MPEG, VOB, DVD, WMV, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, 3GP, FLV.

Youtube Downloader (and others) Just the example:
Just install 'YouTube to VLC' and immediately two buttons, both entitled "YouTube to VLC", will appear in your browser on Youtube.com. Click on either of them, and the program will ask which format to use to write the selected film on disk:
Then the program for downloading from YouTube will start - clicking on "Download selected" will start the download of all selected films.
It should work for IE, Firefox, Chrome.

I have installed the newest VLC player and VLC Direct on mine Android device
While I want to stream from PC to mine mobile phone a video in mkv format than vlc crashes with error about library etc.
I can't find the log file to show it here
Where I can find it ?
There is problem with sending log file to you!
I think that's the bug too.
Please fix this

Go to Default Programs in Control Panel then to Set Default Programs.

I think if something like what is shown in the first image was implemented into VLC, it would be preferable to have it like it is in 7zip because there is a lot of space left on the SMPlayer and Windows pages.

If you already have a cover on HDD downloaded, you can click 'Insert from a file'. You can also try to get a cover from IMDB
For those who want to sign the file or add their www can do this by editing the temporary entries: 'Your nickname' and 'Your community site link' and typing their data there
