Adjust Playback speed to specific fps value

Hi,

I would like to see a setting in VLC to adjust VLC playback speed to a specific fps value while preserving audio pitch.
This way PAL speedup could be done very precise.
I know that playback speed can be adjusted by right clicking the speed tab. However this does not necessarily lead to correct speedup.
E.g: If you choose 4% speedup of a 23.976125 fps movie you will get 24.93517 fps instead of 25 fps.
If the source is 24fps (odd I know, but those clips do exist) and you choose 4% speedup you will get 24.96 fps.

What I want is to be able to set exactly 25fps output to speedup in a way that completely removes any judder that might occur due to mismatch of movie refresh rate vs monitor refresh rate.
(my monitor is a crt with 100hz)

This setting would be a great help for lots of fps related playback speed problems.

Is this possible or could it be implemented someday?

The perfect way would be an option in the preferences that would change the playback speed field in the vlc main window from playback speed factor (current setting) to a destination fps setting.

Best Regards

You can specify the rate at 4%, it will be 4,25%, IIRC, therefore 24,9949 which is quite close to 25.

ANyway, you can specify the rate in preferences.

I have run into this problem as well.

Please give the complete path to making the playback rate change for 25 fps.

I opened all Preferences option and am confused.
