Bookmarks that persist over VLC runs

It'd be great if the bookmarks feature in VLC got an enhancement that the bookmarks (particularly including the play positions of the bookmarked files) would persist between quitting and restarting
the VLC application. It would be greatly appreciated if this gets some consideration from the VLC team.
