VLC 1.1.0 (Released) Problems

1. One particular website (http://kqed-ice.streamguys.org:80/kqedradio-ns-e1) has a momentary "stall" that lasts about 0.1 seconds every 5-10 seconds or so. The same streams heard through other players (e.g., Flash 10) don't exhibit this problem. Other common streams I listen to do NOT appear to have this problem (e.g., http://130.86.239.231:8000/KXJZ96). There may be some difference in the encoding?

2. The --volume=150 command-line option no longer works (I changed it to =500 with no effect). There's an option to make that setting in the program (Preferences | Audio), now, but where would I read of the removal of the command-line option?

3. The command-line options for v0.9.x (http://wiki.videolan.org/VLC-0-9-x_command-line_help) doesn't appear to have been updated.

4. Sometimes, the program fails to launch (on Windows XP; once it fails, the system has to be restarted to "reset the clock" so it works again. However, close and reopen it several times, and it will fail). Even double-clicking the main program, vlc.exe, has no effect. I can't find any cause/effect relationship.

I've rolled back to the reliable ol' V1.0.5 'til there's a new release.

1. I don't hear any problems. (message log is flooded)
2. I am guessing the QT4 option is overriding this.
3. Something missing?
4. One vlc.exe already running in task manager?

1. I don't hear any problems. (message log is flooded)
The problem occurs on three different computers I've tried, albeit all within my local area. And, I have no idea what "message log is flooded" means in this context.
2. I am guessing the QT4 option is overriding this.
Could be, but this command-line argument string has been working, up through v1.0.5, for over two years. So, I wondering what changed?
3. Something missing?
Perhaps I wasn't clear: I've used the link for command-line syntax for a long time. I was wondering if there've been any changes for v1.1, et. seq., and if so, where are they posted; if not, perhaps some text in the heading of the linked page could reflect that fact?
4. One vlc.exe already running in task manager?
Um, no. After a few decades in this industry, I've managed to learn to do some rudimentary debugging before asking for help.

I hope my remarks have clarified what I was trying to report.

1. If you open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2), it should show massive amount of warnings.
2. QT4 volume autosaving.
3. Every version has its own page (well not ALL versions...). For latest version check out http://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help
4. Can you run the VLC debug version under gdb?
