Subtitle : Recording together with sound and video

I have used the VLC Player for only a relative short period of time. Version 1.0.5 seems to be very useful.
However when doing 'Red buttom recording' the resulting film-clip (mpg) has sound and video but not subtitles.
I would appreciate very much if the development team could add the functionality of optional recording subtitles. One user selected language would be very helpful. Two languages might be better ..
