Newbie Needing Help with Visuals

Postby coolc_415 » 10 Dec 2009 16:41

Just started using VLC media player a few weeks ago for DJ small parties at my home. The main reason I chose to use VLC is because I have a good number of .VOB (mpeg-2) videos. Its nice to display the video of the song playing when you can. I've got 92" projector screen set up in the basement!!! VLC does a decent job of going directly from a MP3 (audio only) to a Video format.
Now to my question. Being that I go back and forth between auido only files to Video files.... Is there a way to have the audio visualization be enable only on mp3's. Then when a VIDEO file comes up next in the playlist, have the audio visualizations Disable.
As of now, if I enable audio visual effects, they stay enable and cover up the video. So I eitehr leave the audio disabled or I'm constantly switching back and forth. It would be nice to have the visual effects come on vs. looking at nothing during an audio only song.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or feedback.
