It would be nice if you could add next features to VLC for windows 7 users.
- Album art in thumbnail
- Play/pause/stop/next track/previous track buttons in thumbnail
- Overlay icon to display play/pause state
- Progress indicator on taskbar

I think this would work better then icon in notification area.

- Video is in thumbnail in 1.1
- buttons are in thumbnail in 1.1
- Overlay icon ?
- Progress indicator: no way, it is confusing.

Hi everyone.
It is great using VLC media player. I think same way as you all put request for the modifications in player with Windows 7. As we all are satisfied with the current working of it, it will be good for us that it works same with new o.s. I am completely agree with the suggestions provided here by the others. Hope to get it shortly. Up till then lets enjoy with current feature and satisfy our need of media player.

Hello,

To whom? Just because some people may not like it does not mean that everybody should be purposely deprived of it. Simply make it default to being off, then anyone who gets “confused” by it or finds it distracting or whatever won’t even notice it exists, but those who do want it can enable it. That way, nobody can complain about it because if they have it, then it was their own intended action that did it, not some random new thing that popped up out of nowhere.

Code it. I think it's a bad idea and distracting.

Again, just because it’s distracting to you doesn’t mean that nobody else wants it (otherwise this thread wouldn’t even exist). Like I said, the solution is to simply make it disabled by default, and that goes for any and all options which you think might be “distracting” or “cause confusion”.

Once again, you are very free to do so. I already explained you why on a different thread.
