I think this could be a cool feature for VLC.

Some programs have this feature e.g. InterVideo WinDVR..
The possibility to have the video being played as your desktop having ones icons still there so one can watch the movie while doing other stuff.

I have Actual Title buttons. And sometimes while writing in word. I make the word window 50% transparent making it possible to watch the movie while writing...

It may seem silly but i think it could be a great feature for VLC

This feature is already present (in the Windows version at least).
Right-click on the video, and select "Wallpaper".

but only if you don't have selected a deinterlace filter.
