MP3 VBR encoding

I suppose you are using MP3 Lame encoder, so it'll be nice to have all MP3 Lame features and especially VBR and mono or joint stereo parameters options.
Could you add it both to version 0.8.6 (Latest for Win98Se, Win2000, ...) and for version 1.x, so that one can use VLC anywhere especially as a portable application on USB key.
