Saving My newly set preferences to a file

Postby seboyd2000 » 01 Sep 2009 10:30

hello

I love vlc, great work :)

everytime I download and install a newer version of VLC it kills all my last set preferences
this is a pain that I'm growing tired of...
because finding the right placres in VLC to set it up can be a real pain sometimes

so, can I:

Save My newly set preferences to a file for backup
so anytime I update to a newer version of VLC
I can restore my last set preferences & make them MY DEFAULT

is this possible?
if not can you put it in your future works please.

thanks

Not advised, but yes, don't check 'remove preferences' at install. Or copy the vlcrc file.

ya I did that on the install of 1.0.1 from 1.0.0
I rreally made sure of this point on the install, and it didnt work
it still killed all my set preferences
I had to start all over again... going through the process
maybe a BUG...
