Fixed Window Size in Windows verion of VLC

The most aggravating problem I have had with VLC is the window size starts our way tooo small and I miss the first few seconds before I can grab the mouse and stretch the window.

The only info I can find on Google about his issue is from 2007 requesting this feature and the reply was, cant do.

With version 1.0.0, will ask again, is there a way to make VLC act like most of the windows in Windows that saves the size from session to session, or lets you set the default window size, except full screen? All I can find is set Full Screen and the default size is way too small if you are running high resolution.

Anyone know if this feature is available or when?

I would love this feature as well, in the OSX as well as the Windows version: Seems every other player can do it!

I prefer to keep my videos in a window so I can watch and work, but don't like the resizing the window when the next video in the playlist is a different size! Setting the absolute size doesn't work either; have set specific values in the preferences and it ignores them!

Have you tried unticking the new "Resize interface to video size" parameter (first screen in preferences) available in vlc1.0.0 ?

I can't find this parameter anywhere - can you post a little bit more detail?

The first page only has the following:

Thank you!

This parameter is available on Windows and Linux (qt4 interface) (first screen of preferences).
MacOS has got a specific interface, and I don't know if a similar parameter is available.
