Default playback language...

Would it be tough to get VLC to auto-select a particular language (when available) in multi-language video files?

And would it be practical to ask for something similar in subtitles ... such as even an auto-on preference...

You see I primarily watch anime, and like Japanese audio and English subtitles. Typically files will have English and Japanese audio, with English (yucky dub...) being the default on playback. While only Japanese subtitles are present, they're always off in VLC.

I'd just like to be able to set a preference to play prefered languages ... or failing that, since multi-subtitle languages are rare for me, to have subs "auto-on". I kneel before the VideoLAN gods and make my wish!

I'm on Mac OS X incidentally, if this is an issue.

Oh incidentally I didn't make it clear ...

The audio and subs work just fine, all I'm looking for is a way to avoid having to pause playback and manually select them every time!
