While, VLC is a gold mine of Transcoding!

Can a button be made to load videos into iTunes? It would have to transcode them and then get them into iTunes, however that works. It would be a HUGE step for anyone who wants to view videos on there iphone or iPod.

There is a preset in our transcoding settings in the Qt4 interface to create video files for iPod touch or iPhone (meaning on Win32 and Linux). The Mac OS X port lacks this feature at the moment, although could create the same files with manually set settings.

I didn't quite understand your response.

I am on a mac.

There was 2 parts to my request (I guess)

The first part was that the right transcoding options for playing in itunes be made available. I presume they are already there, but how the hell would I know what will work with all the options VLC has?

The second request was to make this option available and easy to use. Such as a item in a right click menu reading "Port to iTunes"

So, all one would have to do is click the button and it will transcode the port it into itunes. Then it can be synced to the ipod!

Hope I made this more clear.

He means there's a transcoding profile setting for the default interface in windows and linux (that would be, QT4), but that feature hasn't been "ported" to the MacOsX version YET (BTW, when i saw the topic's title I thought "ITunes is an OS now? DAMN!"*clicks* :P Silly me...).

So you have to adjust the parameters by hand. I seen to remember there was an article at the wiki about transcoding to ipod accepted format... that could help you.
