Request: History.

Hey,

I'd like to request a new feature in the upcoming VLC versions: history. Pretty much, it should be something like what any web browser has, but for VLC, namely a list of played files, with date stamp and maybe how much of the file has been played. For me, it would personally aid in getting them TV shows sorted out, so I know which one to play next. But I can see it as a generally helpful, hopefully not-too hard-to-implement feature.

For? Against?

But the complete history will not be done before 1.1 and the media library.

Apologies for seeming ungrateful, but is there a way of turning recent history off? Some of what I am using VLC for, I don't want my children to look at, nudge nudge wink wink!

Tools -> Preferences... and Interface and untick Save recently played items. Press Save and restart VLC.

Done that, but when in the open file dialogue box, if I click on the arrow to the side of "file name" window, I still get a list of files I have seen. Do I have to go into the registry or something like that?

Those must be saved to Windows registry by Windows Explorer.

AFAIK 1.1.0 is now on bug hunt state, so hopefully first stable release arrives in few months.
