I know that's not the way vlc works, but it would be nice to add another output (audio and video) method to connect to a directshow graph and use the powerfull (and fast) ffdshow.
This would give to vlc a big and immediate boost, while waiting for the next versions to implement more filters.

ffdshow is ffmpeg, VLC has full ffmpeg support.

ffdshow is as far as I know much more than ffmpeg. Among others a lot of video filters for vairous purposes.

So, if ffdshow is ffmpeg and ffmpeg is supported by vlc, then ffdshow is supported too right ?

would you like to explain me then how can i use the sharpening filter or the graphic equalizer, or the logo remover,FIR, the stereo subtitles or the winamp plugins and so on then ?

I'm really lost.

ffdshow is a dshow filter that wraps the ffmpeg codecs. nothing more nothing less. VLC is another application that wraps the ffmpeg codecs.

It's just that VLC does everything in it's power to avoid using the traditional windows media layers (directshow and VideoForWindows). This makes it independent.
