it would be great if there are more filefilters in the dropdownmenu of the open window like

- all supported media files
- Soundfiles
- Videofiles

currently there is just an filter for ALL files

good idea indeed, but maintaining such a list may perhaps be a pita. There are many file formats supported by vlc, and these use many extentions.

Last time i counted there were over 60

a filter for every single filetype is not necessary.

A groupfilter would be sufficient, like the search filefilter in emule
