Video is loading...

Does the Mozilla VLC plugin ever actually
play any embedded videos? I just uninstalled QuickTime because I wanted VLC's Mozilla plugin to play a .mov file that some (retarded) website was using as it's main video -- and VLC just sticks at the "Video is loading..." screen. There's no progress bar, so I'm unable to determine if it's actually working or not, and to top it all off, the "Video is loading..." isn't even font smoothed.
Could... we, you know, maybe fix this by next version?

Try a 0.9.7 Nightly Build.

test your plugin installation here :
http://vlc.revolunet.com/simple.html
the core plugin doesnt provide any controls, just a javascript API

The behavior I get in all mozilla-based browsers is the same:
- First, i see just a black rectangle.
- Nothing happens.
- I can click the "play" button on the test page. Nothing will happen.
- If I click the video with ANY mouse button, "video is loading..." text appears
- And still, nothing happens.

strange, works fine here on ubuntu + FF 3.0.5 + VLC 0.8.6
also IE/FF/Chrome on windows is ok
Try this other page :
http://code.revolunet.com/VLCcontrols/V ... anced.html
first switch on VLC debug by clicking the 'tools' icon then tick debug then try to play and see if you get any debug from VLC itself

Playing in debug mode crashes the browser (epiphany), I won't be able to paste the log since it disappears with the whole window. And loading the page alone (!) started to crash firefox. Now that's bad.
