vlc has some problems displaying videos recorded with the camstudio lossless codec v1.0. camstudio is basically an open source screencasting program that can record whatever is happening on your screen right now; video and audio. camstudio allows you to choose various codecs with which the video can be created, but the best one i've tried so far is its own lossless codec. unfortunately, videos created this way do not display properly in vlc for some reason. you will notice that the video "flashes". vlc has already shown itself to be extremely versatile in being able to display many different video files without the need to download additional codecs. would it be too much trouble to include camstudio lossless codec also? this would seem like a feature request, except for the fact that the video was saved in .avi format and does display correctly in windows media player 11, which leads me to believe that the problems with displaying it in vlc may be a problem. here is camstudio's sourceforge page:
