Slider Bar Won't Move Video Forward or Backwards

Postby Lidarose » 23 Jan 2008 08:15

Is there ANY way to get the dang slider bar to move the video I'm watching backwards or forwards? I've looked at every option in the entire program and find nothing to enable this feature! I'm going nuts with this!!! H E L P!!! Can't believe the program won't do this, when even the simpliest video players all do it! What's the hidden trick? :?:

Thanx,
Lida

Could you please be a little more detailed? Do you mean a keyboard hotkey or....?

In VLC 0.8.6d for Windows (both XP Home and Vista Home Premium), any attempt to move the slider while playing a .flv file stops video playback. The video display area and status bar disappear and the pause button is replaced with the play button. This seems to be the same result produced by pressing the Stop button. Pressing the play button afterwards restarts the video from the beginning. I have used one or two previous versions of VLC on WinXPHome, and I have never been able to use the slider to make video playback shift to a different portion of the video.
