A few suggestions

ok why not add the following options in vlc player (if they are already there plz tell me)

firstly a Buffer stream option which should be on the stream open page and be able to be set from "0" seconds to 1 hour

Secondly (i don't know if this is possible) a re-encode option for example i have a .divx format file and i wish to convert it to a .ac3 format or a completely "incompatible" codex both formats being able to be opened by VLC. like a "convert while watching" option to re-encode the data stream into a new format. (i doubt it can be done but if it can VLC becomes an efficient video compression-converting tool)

thirdly a default settings option for settings such as volume, gamma, brightness ect. (one that can be set per session/track/system).

fourthly a "media library" similar to WMP's media library but have a "compile library" option that would put every file in the library into a folder/cd-image ect.

fifthly the option of a visualization for audio only streams/playlists

sixth the option for a "background mode" where any video streams are disabled and vlc player shows in the systray only and not the task bar for use when playing games as a background player rather than having to set all the options and then unsetting them when i finish playing a game or the ability to have "player profiles" which would store all the preferences as a "profile" so u could load a profile and be done.

i can think of more but that'll do for now

Alright well there will be some things like a media library and you should be able to minimize VLC to the system tray. Some of your other ideas sound pretty good. If you want to see what new things are being implemented for the next version of VLC then try the nightly builds.

When you mean Wallpaper Video Mode you can just select Video>Wallpaper Mode from the menu (less than 5 seconds)
If you mean to hide the player, click on the cone in the systray (less than 1 second)
This refers to the nightly builds.

not a wallpaper mode a "background" mode i.e no visual output no task bar icon (yes system tray icon) and low resource usage basicialy to play music/video in background as you are playing a game and as most games use the directx output attempting to run a video output to directx will crash or glitch many games does this explain what i was saying better?

Hi all,
I habe a suggestion according to the "Wallpaper"-option. It would be nice so set the vlc to start automatically in this option and that the taskbar icon moves to the tray. Or is there any possibility to make this (e.g. in a config file?)
