Message or different image for ActiveX plugin

When somebody visits a web page with an embedded VLC object, first sees the VLC media player icon centered on a blank spare.
A lot of people identifies this as an "Under construction" message, while the play doesn't begin.

Can it be replaced with a text (parameter in the OBJECT html tag) or a waiting clock symbol?
