Support Matroska container encoding

I wish VLC can support matroska. It does not havean potion in the transcoading GUI for mkv. also, it must be able to add videos as chapters in a single mkv file.

in the meantime, what software(free ofcource) can help me to place multiple videos as chapters in a single MKV file? is it possible for the chapters to be in different formats? is it possible to Import video track from one file and audio track from another, and use them together in a single MKV file after sync error correction?

and most UNimportantly, please show me a good icon for an MKV or MKA file I don't have a good one yet

so is this feature in the nightlie yet? I really look forword to be able to combine my multi part doccumentary all in flv files to a single mkv file, as chapters.

PLEASE tell me another program that is free and can do what I want it to.

I still feel lost when it comes to work I REALLY have to do

for instance, while I finally managed to convert flv to mkv, I still have to join these small mkvs to a single file.

Any Ideas How it can be donr BEFORE VLC Releases 1.0?

Not everybody reads the stikies, I have the tendency to skip over them myself.

I'm almost sure that if my thread were stikied from the beginning that it wouldn’t be popular as it is.
