VLC suggestions

hi guys, first of all, VLC is GREAT. though i have a few suggestions:
1. For some reason an .ogg/ogm encoded files time (elapsed/left) is displayed correctly, until you scroll forward, while holding the tracker, it displays a time anywhere from 1h+ from where u actually are in the movie file.
2. Limit open VLC clients to one at a time, or add an option for it.
3. under WinXP, in current ver (0.7.2) while having the icons on the taskbar in grouped up positions (ie all msn windows in one tab and so on) version 0.7.1's two windows are shown, the "VLC media player"and the "VLC (Hardware YUV overlay DirectX output) " dialog. only "VLC media player" shows the player again.
-edit- 4. increasing the audio with shortkey "a" still counts the meter in the corners 100% as just 50%, so it is shot out of proportion somewhat
-edit- 5. Same thing as #3 happens when using WinXP and use fullscreen then go back, it opens VLC (Hardware YUV overlay DirectX output) window on the taskbar, but not accessable
-edit- 6. When queuing multiple files, VLC locks previously played files, ie. when done playing, u cant move it or remove until the file is moved out of playlist or VLC is closed.
i think that is it... thanks for an excellent player.

In order of importance:
Please maintain video window size even as videos change.
Please make "repeat" function and "shuffle" available from main menu without having to bring up the playlist. Please as well, make the playlist attachable to the main play area.
If player is left on repeat, remember this setting, even after the player is closed.
VLC WMV codec lags a lot compared with Windows Media Player one.
Add support for Winamp visualizations if possible.
Thanks for a great piece of software. It is the best media player I've ever used.

Add support for Winamp visualizations if possible.
milk visualisations are supported but other ones would need porting or some sort of mystical mid layer, since Winamp and VLC doesn't use same architecture.

hej VLC TEAM / Community, - concerning speedsettings
I hope its the right forum/ adress to send my suggestions to, because its important for the use, I hope really pics it up.
I use the speedsettings a lot for my personal studies - apart from normal speed I almost watch everything in 1,7 or 2 - maybe later in 2.5 speed? which saves my alot of time.
I didnt found a way to maintain the speed settings i chose... so every videoI have to set it up again - id liked this to be changed.
In upcoming more and more information and different approach to handle, enjoy, study etc - it would be really useful to have this opportunity.
thx

SUBTITLES BELOW VIDEO

Many players offers to put subtitles in black spaces below video, in vlc function works only within video there is no way to put it below
, many people still have 4:3 aspec ratio monitors and in these days every video is 16:9 that means there is lot of black space to put subtitles in. Even with wide screen monitor u have same problem when playing cinema format which is 2,28 : 1 or wider and again u have black areas and no way to put subs there
. Problem is when you watch a movie from greater distance is hard to read subtitles when they have same color as background (and what is better background than black space below video). I know many people who complains about it and ultimatly they chose another player because of that... but in my experience every other player has issues with codecs or problem with switching between 5,1 and stereo, there are also problems with embled subtitles and so on... this all works just perfectly in VLC so only thing what makes me sad about it is this problem with subtitles position
DO PLEASE SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!!

In the "Docked playlist"mode preview window is too small, its not possible to make it bigger.
It would be great if preview window will fill all left part of the main window, and playlist will fill only the right part, like in other media players

I'd love to see the ability to sort by date added in the Browse mode for the VLC iPad app.
Love your software by the way, great stuff!!

As someone who is hard of hearing I rely a lot on subtitles. I generally have to download these separately. I often find that the sync is off by 1-3 seconds. I can correct this using the subtitle sync adjust but it would be awesome if I could write the subtitle file back out with the corrected timing from within VLC rather than having to fire up a separate program.

The player should retain the user preference on "Always Fit Window". Since a lot of videos are in 720p, the frames pixelate while expanding to the screen resolution. And it is annoying to untick "Always Fit Window" option every time while playing 720p videos.

More often than not bluetooth audio devices have an audio lag which, when watching video can be frustrating.
VLC has a method manual sync function using keyboard shortcuts. This is mostly used for syncing out of sync video but you can also use in to minimise the bluetooth audio delay.
An automatic sync would be a good feature. VLC could emit some sort of inaudible quaver or tone that it could then process back through the microphone and sync/minimise the delay as required.

We watch mp4 movies using vlc on firestick. It would be great if vlc could read a note in some fashion, whereas we could leave notes using the same filename as the movie, so it would reside right next to the movie. This way we could read a bit of a summary of the movies before viewing without exiting the vlc app.
