Save to YUV (uncompressed)

Would it be possible to add functions to VLC in order that it could save videos into YUV (4:2:0, 4:2:2 or 4:4:4) format ?
This way, one could think about converting a video to YUV (which is uncompressed) and easily read the YUV file to process each frame.
This would be a solution to the impossibility of capturing each frame in VLC (especially in the activeX plugin).
Could someone who makes night builds try to add such functions (let's start with the YUV 4:4:4 planar) ?
