Use numbers as hotkeys

The title described my request well enough.
I noticed that you cannot use numbers as hot keys. I have setup my hotkeys to work comfortably with my Creative RM-1500 remote that came with my audigy 4. However I can only use a handful of the buttons. If the numbers were available, this would open up 10 more button possibilities.
If this is already possible, then I do not see them listed.
