Proper Progress Bar Clicking

When I click on a spot on the progress bar, the actual location moves up a random amount (either forward or backward based on wher ei click in relation to the arrow)

I would like it to go where I click, like it does with the skins (which I find to be unsatisfactory.. a big thing missing with the skins is a maximize/resize option)

Any chances of this happening?

Problem of wxWidgets (which is used to make the interface). We will be switching to a Qt interface in the future. That should hopefully solve this problem.

Don't know if its OK for me to reply here, but I'd just like to say I too would like this feature. In fact, I registered just so I could ask that very question (good thing I searched twice and found this post).

For me, thats the only thing that Windows Media Player Classic has over VLC at this point--the whole wonky seek bar problem is the only reason I still use WMPC. Unless I click exactly on the little slider bar, it goes widly forward or reverse.

Thanks, and can't wait until its sorted :D

Actually it's sorted NOW. Use the skins 2 interface or you can wait 6 or so months for 0.9.0

Well I can't speak for the OP, but the problem I have with skins 2 is that I can't get the player's window to go as wide as my screen (1680X1050). It seems to want to stop at around 1400 (or they go full screen width, but have that "now playing" to the right that eats up several inches of screen real estate). The only way to do it is to have the "Hardware YUV overlay screen," which will go full screen, maxed out, then have the 2nd window with the media controls at the bottom--however, its seek bar is shrunk down to around a few hundred pixels, making careful seeking back and forth difficult. Thats why I like maximizing the default player, as it maximizes the seek bar also (it just goes wonky when you don't exactly click on the slider bar, making the mov go far forward or reverse by accident).

Although its entirely possible I'm doing something wrong, and don't wish to detract from the OP's future feature request.

Yes, as I mentioned in my post the resizing and maximizing functionality in skins 2 is causing a problem.. i dont even think that the skins2 skins have a maximize button from the ones i've seen, and the ones that let me resize manually dont let me resize to the full size of my monitor.

The only time I have seen this is when the aspect ratio is incorrect in the header info or the video was improperly cropped and or resized.

Yes, for some reason the main layout of the default skin has attributes maxWidth="1200" and maxHeight="1024". You can change them rather easily in the skin itself (a .vlt skin file is just a renamed .tar.gz).
I will see if this can be removed for the 0.8.6 release, because i don't see any reason for this limitation.

The skins2 engine doesn't allow that currently.
