Change Channels within VLC for TV-tuner cards.

Is it possible to be able to control various tv tuner cards via VLC? For instance to change the channel with PVR cards you call "ivtv-tune -c channel number" I'd love a feature where this can be controlled from within VLC so I don't have to keep dropping to the commandline.

I'm thinking about the same thing... I've tried to set a frequency (given by ivtv-tune output) in VLC PVR parameters, but this did not change the channel

Use playlist, add all channels to there.

The problem is that adding "channels" to the playlist will just end up with a playlist showing n times the same program...
As I said, setting a frequency in PVR tab does not change the channel, only ivtv-tune seems to work

Changing channels within VLC is a must!
I am using DScaler for my analog needs, but VLC has the streaming possibility and I am in need of that too, so...Bump

VLC was not intended as a PVR and only the most clever of users have made it that.
Presently VLC only accepts a channel and not a frequency.
There is also a desire for DVB support. All that it takes is manpower and time with a knowledge of programing and a desire to build or rebuild a module. In the mean time the source code is available to anyone with a desire and changes or patches are always welcomed.
