ActiveX / Mozilla plugin: getting the aspect ratio

I could really use a way to read the aspect ratio of an video using the browser plugins. AFAIK the API's for the browser plugins (ActiveX/Mozilla or MediaControl) don't provide any means to do this yet. Is there any chance you could implement this (preferable in 0.8.6) ?
