VideoLAN needs your help

There are many things that we would like to improve in VLC, but that we don't, because we simply don't have enough time. That's why we are currently looking for some help.
We have identified several small projects that prospective developers could work on. Knowledge of C and/or C++ programming will certainly be useful, but you don't need to be an expert, nor a video expert. Existing VLC developers will be able to help you on these projects.
You can find the list and some instructions at http://wiki.videolan.org/Mini_Projects.
Don't hesitate to join us on IRC on the mailing-lists.
We are waiting for you!

I'd like to be an unpaid sweatshop v.90 alpha-tester in a horrible third-world firetrap with locked exits.

You provide alphaware (I use WinXP); I will take care of the rest.

The first problem is random dropping of the stream. Everything is going okay and then suddenly I lose the stream and it takes 2-20 minuets until I can get the stream back. second is more recent and more nasty. Every video is experiencing very bad audio distortion (it sounds like everyone is gurgling). I pulled a restart and looked over my settings and I know it's not my side of the stream. I have also modiced a degration of videos over time.
When they are first uploaded and then streamed off the server they are perfect ans nothing is wrong. About a week or so after it hits the net you can begin to notice that the sound is falling behind the video. Again, my system was checked to see if it was the problem and it's not.Is this being looked after?

Hi.
My name is Evgeniy, I'm from Belarus.
I have good experience in C++ (about 5 years, last two i lead commercial project - VoIp client) and i would like to improve VLC player. I've worked with Qt, cmake, visual studio, gcc, svn and so on. I don't have a lot of free time, but i would like to try take part in project.
At first i would like to improve "subtitles": enable/disable, choosing one from set, etc. It's important for me, because i learn English.
What are you thinking?
