No VLC for webOS. What?

Postby lesm » 28 Jul 2024 17:19

Hi all,
I'm using VLC since around 1998 or so in computers, laptops, TV' s, cell phones and so forth, and never needed to ask for help. But recently i bought an LG TV for the kitchen and surprisingly found that there is no VLC for that TV. My wife is furious cause all the other TV's and computers in the house run VLC without a problem.
So I have two simple questions: Why there is no VLC for the LG's webOS and what shall I do?
Thank you.

There is no webOS version because nobody made one. Just like there is no Tizen version and no longer is an Xbox version.

I use the (unmaintained and buggy) VLC for Xbox One, with the console connected to my LG TV set. A better option may be to connect a RaspBerry Pi or any other SBC with VLC support, to the TV.

Unless you want to make the WebOS version yourself.

Thanks Rémi Denis-Courmont for your reply but decided to return and exchange the TV to sender.
