Out of the box dark mode

Hi All,
I am using VLC on Windows for ages. It is my go to player with very little to complain about.
One thing I am tinkering with for quite a while is to get it to display in a proper dark mode.
Suggestions always have been to just pick one of the many themes that can be downloaded.
But no matter which theme I pick I only get dark mode with changes to the original UI which are done by every theme.
All I want is to have the same old VLC standard interface but with a pitch black playlist and everything else just toned down - and as a standard option built in the regular preferences.
I also know this in on the wishlist of quite some VLC users as an evergreen and 4.0 alpha comes with it as standard... but still it would be nice for 3.0.xx as well
