Hi,
I'd like to suggest to add tabbed view for playlists. Just like web pages are opened in tabs, we could have separate tabs per playlist.

The whole user interface will change in the next major release of VLC (VLC 4.0). I don't think that tabbed view is planned, though.

Open more than one playlist in tabbed view
