Setting for automatic selection and playback of 'forced' subtitles

I used to love VLC media player, it plays everything, simple to set up, easy to update and it is free. But it really bugs me, especially as I am slowly going deaf and watch a lot of Anime, that I have to switch on the subtitles for each and every file I play.

Now I know that I can go into settings and choose it to look for, and load subtitles by typing 'English@ and setting fuzziness settings etc.., and it will work provided that the subtitle file is in the ass format, or perhaps as an external file of any format but I encode my .srt subtitles into the file itself and mark them as both default and forced, so this option will not work in this case. Maybe it's because it can only work on the .ass format. I have to have .srt format as by SONY blu ray player does not recognise the .ass ones.

This could all be solved if only you could add an option to automatically select and play 'forced' subtitles whether they be .srt or .ass, without having to go into the settings and play around with fuzziness settings and languages (which do not work for encoded .srt subs). Please It cannot be that hard to do. I really do want to go back to using VLC instead of the rather clunky KODI which does the job for my anime files subtitles perfectly. The worst part is that I could use VLC for 95% of the stuff I watch but the anime has to be played on a different player. I do not intend to have two players in my system when one should be able to do it all. Please, VLC is the best and easiest to set up out there (PotPlayer is fabulous but takes some setting up and it also does not do the 'forced' thing), it could only enhance your product should you add this option. Please consider it.

There is no option to select forced subtitles. That is the default setting.

I don't know if it's broken for SRT. If it is, file a bug and provide a sample.
