Single file: Append "-converted" to file name

I did a brief search for this request, but didn't find anything similar.

Situation: VLC Player for Win10. I have a number of screen-captured MP4s in different folders that I need to reduce the file size of. Sometimes a folder will contain multiple files, and sometimes only one. I navigate to each, use VLC's ability to Convert the video(s) to a lower resolution, then delete the original(s).

When I queue several files for conversion, a checkbox appears in the convert/save dialog that allows me to append "-converted" to the filename. This is pretty useful. However, when there's only one file to be converted, the checkbox doesn't appear, and I have to specify a new filename manually.

Request: either make the checkbox available regardless of how many files are queued for conversion, or add "-converted" by default to the (new) single file (name) being converted.

Regardless of what happens, thanks for your time and support...
