Suggestion to (optionally) display frame number

Probably this has been asked before.
I know there is an older thread titled "How to display time in fractions of a second, or frame number", but I do not want to 'steal' that thread.
So a renewed feature request to have VLC display the frame numbers.
I did have a look at extensions:
Time_v3.2_(intf).zip
Jump to time (Previous frame).zip
I might be overlooking a feature, but regretfully I can't get them to display the frame number/frames all the time, i.e. when playing.
Meaning something like the below.
Keep up the good work.
