Can this be added to the VLC User Interface as an option under menus/right click.

Add a minimal mode option so that when in window mode there is just the Video only with no controls great for watching TV streams from the Dreambox in a window sitting on top while working on other programs.

You can do this by going in Preferences->Interfaces->General->wxWidgets, and uncheck "embed video in interface".

We will be improving the skins system to allow that more cleanly
