Locked menu bar positions

Why was the option to drag the menu items locked now in the play list? The bar with the [Artist], the [Track], and [Title] for example is what I'm referring to. I use to drag the track column to the far left. Now everything is where it is' and you just have to go with the chosen layout. Why would you guys lock it now after all these versions?

It was 3.0.6 Vetinari, but I down graded back to 2.2.8
I don't know why upgrades always fix one thing and brake another.
The gap issue is a greater concern.
