when is the hdr support for apple tv 4k comming? when will the new version of vlc comming?

vlc is inly player on appletv which plays hdr content in sdr and has pretty good color so please let me test upcoming hdr

No, not yet. But still we have tone mapping, so HDR should be correctly rendered even if it doesn't use HDR capabilities.

yes you guys have done some ace job on tone mapping. i am really looking forward for your hdr renderer there are no apps which play hdr correctly on apple tv 4k currently.

side question, vlc on apple tv 4k chooses full hd video track and i cant find option to select 4k track any way to do that?

Unfortunately there is no video track selector on VLC for Apple TV yet.

umm end of the year almost any update on hdr? every other player still --please stay polite-- so only hope vlc remains
