private mode (not disable history)

I want to be able to right click on the icon and choose to run VLC with no history for that session just like I can with web browsers.

Why? So I can watch porn and not have it saved in the recent history where my kids are more likely to run across it but still be able to continue where I left off in regular media.

When ever you clear recent history, it also clears all the continue points.

4.0 clearing of recent history won't clear the continue points :)

But, that's a good point.

So clicking "Clear recent history" no longer 'really' clears recent history, it just clears the list that is displayed.

This is not at all what I was talking about and it's actually worse then the previous option as now all my history is kept in some hidden file?

I want it to not 'create' or 'log' any history when I don't want it to but, I want it to create and keep history when I do want it to.

I am not fond of the thought that my view history is saved in secret file, but I would like to at least be able to delete the recent history that is displayed. In the previous post they mention clicking the "Clear recent history". Where is that? I can't find it.

At the bottom of the history list.

k well we must be talking bout diff program or diff version of the program cuz when i open the media, there isn't a "open Recent Media" I am using 3.0.7.1. it says my version is the latest. Is it possible that the "Open Recent Media" feature was in an older version and was taken out of the latest version or something? So Strange
