Hello,

the E key moves to the next frame, but could it be possible to have another shortcut to moves to previous frame?
I could not get it in any documentation!

Many thanks

Fred

As much as I have always loved and used primarily for all my media rendering needs, VLC has let me down here for sure. I'm calling BS on the compression rationale for this not working because MPC-HC does this *just fine*.

Hell when you hold down the hotkey to jump back one frame it smoothly reverses the video frame by frame slowly. It works perfectly in most formats, with the more compressed ones (WEBM) fairing worse in performance naturally. Most mkv's, mp4's mpg's and so on work just beautifully. I truly don't see how VLC can't do it and MPC-HC has no problem with it.

Try it yourself. Worked out of the box like a charm for me.

Hi! Is there any update on this, or temporary workaround?

No, sorry. This is a difficult and long-term goal that might realized in VLC 5.0 at best.

Hi there,
Thank you for your excellent software that I have been using for years now! I will add on to this it would be great that you guys develop a previous frame function that we could hotkey. :geek:
Looking forwards to vlc 5.0
