Hi,

A native dark skin would be great instead of the bright white skin VLC comes by default, by now Windows 10 (October update) & Mac OS has an option for a dark mode in the Windows explorer / Finder.

Can that be implemented? the custom skins look terrible and it makes VLC sluggish

This really needs to be implemented in a future update. I tried using skins for the first time after finally getting tired of the searing white light, and was disappointed to find that they were all 10 years old, with the most recent update being from 8 years ago.
Either that, or the skin editor should be updated so people can make their own dark skin for the current version of VLC.

I'm also one of the VLC users waiting for the native dark theme, I tried a lot of themes but none provide the experience that comes with the native theme.

Also waiting for dark theme... might start using the windows and iOS app once dark mode is available. Existing themes are not good... we need native functionality

It's available with the new UI, but the new UI itself is not ready yet.

Still heavily, HEAVILY anticipating an official dark mode from VLC...

VLC developers are not entitled to do anything, nor do they care if you leave. This is a free program made by a non-profit. Either contribute code to the project or don't say anything. They are working on it.

Hi. It's been a long time since your last message, and I want to know if the VLC team is still interested in implementing the dark theme for VLC on Windows? If the answer is yes, how much longer will we have to wait?

I thought the dark theme was going to come before the end of this year, but I don't understand, it seems that changing the color of the VLC interface into a dark theme seems like a difficult job for the developers.
