Equalizer Presets for Video

Since the vast majority of users are using VLC to play videos (does anyone use it for music?), why are all the presets for audio?

How about presets for Action, Concert, Documentary, Drama etc?

Because no player does that :)

Well if VLC is only gonna do what every other player does, then it's not really needed, is it?

Most developers and manufacturers strive to make their products better and more innovative than their competitors', not identical.
If that's the case, might as well use a generic icon so VLC won't stand out in any way from the others.

What if the first car maker to use anti-lock brakes said "no one else does it so we won't either?"

It's absurd that a media player's primary function is (arguably) to play video, yet its sound settings are all designed for music.
It's VLC Media Player, not VLC Music Player.

That's like having an A/V receiver with no settings for things like Sports, Action, Sci-Fi...

I realize A/V receivers are intended for use with a tv/projector & multiple speakers, while VLC is used primarily on computers & mobile devices.
But a lot of people use their computers to watch a LOT of video and many have 2.1 or 5.1 speakers that could make those videos sound much better given the right settings.

Call me crazy, but it seems likely that videos would sound better using settings designed for video rather than music settings like Classical, Reggae, Techno etc.
