Apple TV's "Remote Playback" for Android TV

I don't know whether there is a reason that this isn't already possible on the AndroidTV's version of VLC (perhaps due to different writing privileges?), but the AppleTV's version of VLC has a very useful feature included with it called "Remote Playback". This is an absolutely amazing feature, and I would really like to see it available for AndroidTV!!

I have an Nvidia Shield and it's quite versatile and useful and all, but sometimes I find myself longing for how easy some family members have it with uploading videos to their more closed-ecosystem AppleTVs!

I don't know how difficult this would be to port, but I'm sure others would find this equally useful!!

Perhaps I have missed this feature in the AndroidTV version of the app and its actually already included?

Ok, that's what I thought. I've looked through the TODO list to see if there was anything similar to this type of enhancement listed there, but couldn't find anything (at least not under Android). Is this a feature we could expect coming to AndroidTV at some point? Or is there perhaps an Android specific reason that makes it inconvenient to integrate onto that particular OS?
