Smart playlists

Can you tell me if there is a way to create smart playlists based on Meta Data. Such as a playlist of all rock songs or pop songs or songs by AC/DC?

Don't think this belongs in VLC but maybe someone could write a plugin to do this. As far as I know (I am not certain) there is currently no way to do this.

But you can sort by column genre!

Check out this feature request post I made. I am suggesting smart playlist support but the smart playlist is a file instead of being a built in feature into VLC
