RTSP client_port (I want to specify those !)

Hi,
Some friends and I are starting to use VOD with RTSP.
We have a little problem about firewalling.

We the client is behind a firewall, the stream will be blocked by the firewall since
udp ports specified by the client (with client_ports directive RTSP protocol) are not opened and
redirected by the firewall.

Is there a possibility to force the vlc player to use specified clients_ports, that way
the configuration of forward ports on the fw will be enough to reach the stream.

I didn't find anywhere a RTSP client_port configuration option, I would be great to had
one or at least display the current value of client_port in the VLC GUI, because using tcpdump
to find those ports is not user friendly ;]

Keep the good work guys !

Hi, I met the same problem, also want to specify the client_port in "setup" of RTSP. Have you resolved this problem?

You can use: vlc rtsp://server/file --rtp-client-port=XXXX
