I noticed WTV support dropped. Please bring it back.

I record TV programs on my primary Win7 PC using Windows Media Center and I'd like to be able to watch them on my Win10 tablet over my home network.
I installed the latest (3.0.1) version of VLC only to discover .WTV support was dropped "for Copyright/DRM reasons" (displaying only the first frame, playing only audio), forcing me to go back to v2.2.8 (the ONLY Win10 app capable of playing WTV files.)
Dropping playback support for WTV is just dumb. If Windows can record it, it should be able to play it. Please bring back support for WTV files.
