ncurses - playlist - save playlist

I find it easy to remote log in a terminal to a machine where I installed VLC hooked up to TV. I prefer not having to use keyboard or mouse, so ncurses seemed like a good way to start and it is. Now there is a feature I can't find. In the ncurses playlist there seem to be a miss of a save playlist. Did I miss the whole idea, or is this feature missing? Of course moving things up/down through the playlist is needed to. Atm opening a directory or a playlist is ways to open playlists i a good feature, But some simple editing would be nice.
Any way to edit playlists in terminal,besides a text editor?
