MacOS Applescript library

Postby auralarch » 20 Jul 2017 23:37

The ability to control VLC on a Mac using Applescript is fantastic! I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this feature (which seems under-advertised IMHO). It is extremely useful and essentially adds the possibility of adding "global hotkeys" for the scriptable controls.

My request is to make a few more controls/commands/actions scriptable—increase the Applescript dictionary...

The features which I would find the most useful to be scripted are:
navigating "chapter" index points within a file
programmatic access/control of playback speed/rate
programmatic access/control of audio sync/delay

It would be marvelous if some kind, talented soul would take interest in this coding project! I wish I were capable of undertaking such a project myself...

Many thanks!
